Bay of Islands Snorkelling

We are fully kiwi-owned and operated. With experience on and under the water in the Bay of Islands for over 25 years, we can’t wait to enlighten you with our exceptional knowledge of the area.

Being the only dedicated Snorkelling trip in the Bay of Islands, we are focused on giving you value for money and creating great memories from your time in our beautiful back yard.

We love that we can provide a more personalized trip with only 10 passengers max, it is a very interactive trip that all can enjoy. Sharing the Bay has always been our top priority, and we love meeting people from all walks of life.

Our Vessel

Pelorus Belle, our super stable 8-metre catamaran, has been modified in 2019 with a unique fold-down platform for entering the water safely and super easily. When you exit the water there is a hot water shower to warm you up.

There’s a comfortable cabin inside for warmth, an outside shaded area, and space fully out in the open for unobstructed enjoyment of the scenery and sun on your face. With plenty of room, and numbers limited to 10 passengers, you are not restricted to one seat.

At Bay of Islands Snorkelling we care very much for the environment, so we have re-powered Pelorus Belle with two modern Yamaha 225HP outboard engines to improve her sustainability and to keep our carbon footprint as low as we can. These efficient state-of-the-art engines get us around the bay in no time!

Highlights:

With two sites planned for our trips, our main focus is the NO take zone in Deep Water Cove, with its well known clear waters, it is filled with plentiful and varied marine life, which also makes it fun for us – as we never know what else will turn up… explore a massive archway, amazing underwater scenery and have fun with cheeky fish that will make you laugh!
Even though the waters here are warm, we provide wet-suits so you able to spend more time in the water, also a hot water shower for when you get out of the water and a cup of hot instant soup!
Our well travelled and experienced snorkelers have described our trip as world class and many put the area on a par with the well known Poor Knights Islands!
