Auckland Whale and Dolphin Safari

Auckland Whale and Dolphin Safari

Embark on Auckland’s premier marine wildlife safari, departing from downtown Auckland. Board the luxurious ‘Dolphin Explorer’ for a 4.5-hour cruise through the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park, home to diverse marine life. Your journey begins at the Viaduct Basin, near major hotels and hostels. Climb aboard our 65-foot (20-meter) catamaran and get ready to explore this abundant marine park.

From the open deck, admire iconic Auckland landmarks like the Harbour Bridge, North Head, Devonport, and Rangitoto Island. Keep an eye out for orcas and dolphins in the inner Waitematā Harbour.

Each safari is unique, with daily encounters varying. Common sightings include Bryde’s whales and dolphins, with occasional sightings of pygmy blue whales, New Zealand fur seals, sharks, manta rays, turtles, and various seabirds.
