  • Complimentary Transport: Transport to and from Mt John is provided for convenience.
  • Warmth and Comfort: Use of ECW (extreme cold weather) jackets to keep warm at the summit.

Important Notes

  • Fitness Requirement: The terrain on Mount John requires a certain level of fitness. Guests must be confident walking 100 meters on a gravel incline and able to climb a couple of steps in the dark.
  • Weather Dependent: The Summit Experience is weather-dependent. If observation is not possible due to weather, an alternative indoor experience may be offered in a purpose-built technological and interactive venue, with guests entitled to a partial refund.
  • Accessible Alternative: Guests seeking a more accessible tour can consider the Crater Experience at Cowan’s Private Observatory.
